Professional Email: First steps, mailboxes, aliases and webmail from the Client Area

Professional Email is a separate email service for your domain (e.g. info@yourdomain.com), independent of web hosting. It runs on its own mail server (mailcow) and you manage it directly from the service page in the Client Area.

If you have cPanel or Plesk hosting, you also have the email included with your hosting. See cPanel: Email accounts or Plesk: Email accounts.

Where to find it

  1. Log in to the Client Area and go to Services → My Services.
  2. Click Manage on your email service.
  3. The service page shows Email Management with everything you need.

Email Management only appears when the service is Active. If it's suspended, see Service renewal, reminders and what happens if payment is late.

The primary mailbox

When the service is activated, your first mailbox is created automatically. In the list it's marked Primary mailbox. You can see its address and password under the service's Login credentials. The primary mailbox can't be deleted.

Overview

  • Space used: how much of your package's total space your messages take up.
  • Mailboxes in use and Aliases in use: how many you've created out of what your package allows.
  • Open Webmail: opens webmail in a new tab. See Professional Email: Webmail and account settings.

Mailboxes

Each mailbox is an email address with its own messages and its own password (e.g. info@, sales@, maria@).

New mailbox

  1. In the Mailboxes section, click New Mailbox.
  2. In Mailbox name, type only the part before the @ (e.g. sales).
  3. Fill in Full name (shown as the sender) and Storage (MB).
  4. Type a password twice or click Generate password. The password must have at least 8 characters. Keep it: you'll need it to log in.
  5. Click Create Mailbox.

The New Mailbox button doesn't appear once you've reached your package's limit. For more mailboxes or space, see Changing billing cycle, upgrading and downgrading your package.

Actions on each mailbox

Next to each mailbox there are icons (hover over them to see what each one does):

ActionWhat it does
Change PasswordSets a new password. Then change it on every device where the mailbox is set up.
Change StorageChanges how many MB the mailbox can use, within your package's limits.
Disable / EnableWhile disabled, the mailbox doesn't receive messages.
Delete MailboxPermanently deletes the mailbox and all its messages. This can't be undone.

The list also shows each mailbox's space usage and Last login.

Aliases (forwarding)

An alias is an address with no messages of its own: whatever arrives there is forwarded to another address. For example, info@ can forward to maria@ and nikos@.

  1. In the Aliases section, click New Alias.
  2. In Alias address, type only the part before the @.
  3. In Destination, type where messages should go. For more than one destination, separate them with commas. The destination can also be an address outside your domain (e.g. a Gmail address).
  4. Click Create Alias.

You can't create an alias with a name that a mailbox already uses. You can disable, re-enable or delete any alias.

I don't see the "New Mailbox" button

On some packages, mailboxes and aliases are created by us. In that case, Email Management shows the details but not the buttons. Open a support ticket with what you need.
