Multicast Video: Account settings - profile, time zone, language, passwords, stream key and package
7 viewsApplies to: Multicast Video. Not sure which panel you have? See Which radio or video panel do I have?
In Settings you set your panel account details: email, time zone, language and password. You'll also find your FTP details, the details for live broadcasting (RTMP Server and Stream Key) and your package limits there.
To open it: Account → Settings in the left-hand menu, or click your name at the top right and choose Profile.
Profile: email, time zone and language
- In the Profile card you see your Username. It can't be changed, because it's part of all your channel's links.
- Email: enter an email address you read. That's where you receive notifications from the panel, e.g. when we reply to feedback you sent from Account → Feedback. The field is required. You can also log in to the panel with this email instead of your username.
- Timezone: choose your station's time zone. For Greece and Cyprus it's (GMT+2) Athens, Greece (the default). Under the field you see the Local time according to the zone you chose, so you can check it.
- Language: the panel language. There are 8 languages: Ελληνικά, English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Русский.
- Click Save. You'll see "Profile updated". If you changed the language, the page reloads in the new language.
Why the time zone matters
Your account time zone is used everywhere in the panel:
- in the Schedule: a schedule for 20:00 starts at 20:00 in your zone (see Schedule);
- in Advertisements with a specific time or active window (see Advertisements);
- in the clock in the panel's top bar;
- in Statistics and the daily limit for downloads from URL;
- in the Date & Time you can show on the stream (see Overlay & Watermark).
After changing the time zone: if you show Date & Time on the channel, click Restart on the Dashboard so the correct time appears on the stream. Also check that your schedules and ads still have the times you want.
Language: two ways
Besides Settings, you can change the language from the flag in the top bar, on any page. The language is saved in the browser you're using. If you log in from another computer or phone, you may need to choose it again. From the same menu under your name (top right) you can also switch between a dark and light theme with Change theme.
Changing your panel password
- In the Change Password card, enter your Current Password.
- Enter the New Password: at least 6 characters. We recommend 12 or more, with letters, numbers and symbols.
- Enter it again in Confirm Password.
- Click Change Password. You'll see "Password changed".
- The change only affects logging in to the panel. The FTP password and the Stream Key don't change.
- The Login to Panel button in the Client Area keeps logging you in normally, without a password.
Be careful with the current password: every wrong current password counts as a failed login. After 5 mistakes within 15 minutes, your connection is blocked for 15 minutes from the login page too. If you don't remember the current password, don't guess; see below.
I forgot my password
The panel's login page has no "Forgot password" link. You don't need one:
- Log in to the Client Area.
- Go to Services → My Services → Manage on your Multicast Video service.
- Click Login to Panel. You're logged in to the panel without a password (see The service page in the Client Area).
- If you want to set a new password without knowing the old one, send us a ticket (see Support ticket).
The button's link is valid for a few minutes and for one use only. If it takes you to the login page instead of the panel, go back to the Client Area and click the button again. Your panel session expires after 24 hours of inactivity; then you just log in again.
FTP Access
The FTP Access card shows the details for an FTP program (e.g. FileZilla): Host, Port, Username and Password, each with a copy button. The FTP password is different from your panel password. How to use them: Uploading with FTP (FileZilla) and Import.
The Regenerate button creates a new, random FTP password ("FTP password has been regenerated"). Afterwards you need to enter the new password in FileZilla or whichever FTP program you use.
Stream Settings: RTMP Server, Stream Key and HLS
The Stream Settings card shows:
- RTMP Server: the address you send live video to from OBS or vMix. It looks like
rtmp://[domain]:1935/live; copy it exactly as shown. - Stream Key: the "password" for live broadcasting. It starts with
sk_. Don't give it to anyone you don't want to be able to go live on your channel. - HLS Stream URL: your channel's direct stream for players and apps (see Quick Links).
How to enter them in OBS: Live broadcasting with OBS or vMix.
The Regenerate button under the Stream Key creates a new key ("Stream Key has been regenerated"). The old one stops working immediately. Use it if you think someone who shouldn't have your key has it. Then enter the new key in OBS or vMix. Stream Targets (YouTube, Facebook etc.) aren't affected.
Be careful with the Regenerate buttons: for both the Stream Key and the FTP password, clicking Regenerate opens a confirmation window. The change only happens if you click Regenerate again inside the window; Cancel changes nothing. Avoid changing them just before or during a live show.
My Package
The My Package card shows your package's name and its limits:
| Limit | What it means |
|---|---|
| Max Bitrate (kbps) | The maximum quality (bitrate) of the stream. In OBS or vMix, set the video bitrate equal to or lower than this. |
| Max Viewers | How many viewers can watch at the same time. Viewers on the same internet connection count as one. |
| Storage | The space for your videos. |
| Max Videos | How many videos you can have in total. |
The Storage Usage bar shows how much space you've used. You see the same information at the bottom of the left-hand menu (Storage). When the space is full or you reach Max Videos, the Upload page won't accept new files until you delete some.
The limits can't be changed here. For more space, viewers or bitrate, or for features with a PRO badge in the menu, see Upgrading or downgrading your package.
