Closing my account

If you won't use the Client Area again, you can request the permanent closure of your account yourself. The request is carried out after a few days, and until then you can cancel it.

Don't want to close the whole account? If you only want to stop one service, request a cancellation just for that one: How to request a service cancellation. Your account stays, with your history and documents.

What closing means

  • All your active services (radio, video, hosting, email, VPS etc.) and their add-ons are terminated. Their data is permanently deleted from the servers.
  • Your domains are cancelled and won't be renewed. Once they expire, someone else may register them.
  • Unpaid proforma invoices are cancelled.
  • You can no longer log in, and the account can't be reactivated.
  • There's no refund for periods already paid, nor for unused credit.

Before you start

  1. Keep copies of whatever you need: music and files (FTP or the panel's Backup), databases, email.
  2. Download your invoices as PDF from Billing → PDF Invoices, for your accounts. After closure you won't have access to them.
  3. Domains: if you want to keep them, transfer them to another provider first (Transferring a domain to another provider) and wait for the transfer to complete.
  4. If you have credit or anything outstanding, send a ticket to billing first.

Steps

  1. Log in as the account owner. Additional users don't see this option (Users and contacts).
  2. Go to Account → My Details and scroll to the bottom of the page, to the red Permanently Close My Account card.
  3. Click Close My Account.
  4. In the window, enter your login password and click Okay. If you only log in with Google, Facebook or X and have no password, set one first using "Forgot password" (instructions).
  5. Read the warning and click Close My Account again.
  6. You'll see that the account has been deactivated and will be permanently closed in 7 days. Click Okay. You're logged out automatically and receive a confirmation email.

I changed my mind: cancelling the request

Until the closure date you can cancel the request:

  1. Log in as usual.
  2. A window appears: "Your account will be closed on [date]".
  3. Click Cancel Closing. The account carries on as normal, and your services aren't affected.

If you click Confirm Closing, you're simply logged out and the closure goes ahead on the stated date.

Didn't request it? If you receive an email about an account closure you didn't request, log in immediately, click Cancel Closing, change your password, turn on two-factor authentication and let us know in a ticket.
