The Studio is your channel's "on-air console": a full-screen page where you see what's playing and how long is left, and put a video, a jingle or a voice announcement on air with one click. It's ideal for whoever is "running" the channel during a show, or for simply keeping an eye on it.

The Studio works on top of your channel's playlist. For production with preview, camera and recording, see the Mixer.

Opening the Studio

1. In the left menu, under Main, click Studio.
2. It opens full screen, without the usual menu. At the top right there are icons to go back to the Dashboard, to Settings and to Log out.

The page refreshes itself (status every 5 seconds, schedules and targets every 10), so you can leave it open on a screen.

What you see on screen

Top bar

• Three clocks: Local time (in your account's time zone), Uptime (how long the channel has been playing) and Video (how long the current video has been playing).
• Current viewers (eye icon) and the ONLINE / OFFLINE indicator.
• The Talk button (voice announcement, below), the language switcher and the theme switch (dark/light).

Left column: the active playlist

All the videos in the playlist that's playing, with their position, thumbnail and duration. Next to each video there's ▶ Play now. If the playlist is empty, you'll see "No videos in playlist" and the Manage Playlists button.

Middle column

• Now Playing: the title, thumbnail, countdown and progress bar of the current video. The Jingle Mode or Single Video labels light up when a jingle or a video from the Schedule is playing. When nothing is playing: "Nothing playing right now".
• Three tabs:
  • Videos: all your videos, with a search (Search video...) and ▶ to play any of them immediately, even if it isn't in the playlist.
  • Schedule: Today's Schedule, with a Manage link to the Schedule page.
  • Playlists: all your playlists, for a quick switch.
• Jingles: coloured buttons, one for each video you've marked as a jingle. It only appears if you have jingles.
• Preview: a small, muted preview of what viewers are seeing.
• Playback History: the videos that played recently.

Right column

• Stream Control: the Start, Stop, Restart and Skip buttons, and below them a wide button with circular arrows to reload the playlist.
• Stream Targets: the platforms you restream to (YouTube, Facebook etc.) with ▶ / ■ to start and stop.
• Statistics: Peak today, Total Videos, Ready for Stream.

Bottom bar

The title of the Next video, and quick links to Videos, Playlists, Ads, Upload, Statistics, Live and your channel's public page.

Starting and stopping the channel

1. Click Start, Stop or Restart.
2. A confirmation window appears. Confirm.
3. You'll see "Action successful" and the page reloads after 2 seconds.

Careful: Stop takes the channel off air for all viewers. If you use Stream Targets, check them after every Stop or Restart. The channel plays on its own 24 hours a day; you don't need to stop it when you close the Studio.

Play now: a video on air immediately

1. Find the video in the left column (playlist) or in the Videos tab (all videos).
2. Click the ▶ Play now next to it.
3. You'll see "Playing now". The video that was playing is cut and the one you chose starts. When it ends, the playlist carries on.

• The ▶ is greyed out when the channel is stopped.
• It doesn't work while you're live from OBS or a camera ("Cannot change video during live broadcast").

Skip and reloading the playlist

• Skip: cuts the current video and moves to the next one in the playlist ("Video skipped").
• The wide button with circular arrows below Stream Control re-reads the active playlist. Useful if you've changed the playlist and want to be sure the channel has picked up the change. You'll see "Playlist reloaded".

Jingles

Jingles are short channel-ident videos (station ident, "stay tuned" etc.).

1. First mark the videos as jingles: Videos → ⋮ → Mark as Jingle. See Managing your videos.
2. Open the Studio again. The Jingles section appears with one button for each (the title is cut to 15 characters; hover over it to see the full title).
3. Click a button. You'll see "Playing jingle: …".

The jingle interrupts the video that's playing and, when it ends, the channel carries on from about the same point in the video. It doesn't play while you're live or when the channel is stopped. For automatic jingles between videos, use the Jingle Options in the Schedule.

Switching playlist from the Studio

1. Go to the Playlists tab.
2. Click the card of the playlist you want.
3. You'll be asked "Switch to playlist "…"? The video playing now will stop." Click Confirm.
4. You'll see "Playlist activated!" and the left column shows the new list.

Careful: once you confirm, the switch happens immediately and the video that's playing is cut. If a Playlist-type schedule is in effect, the system will put the schedule's playlist back within about a minute.

Talk: a voice announcement over the programme

With Talk you record a short message from your computer's microphone and it's heard on the channel over the video's sound, which is lowered while you speak.

1. Make sure the channel is playing.
2. Click Talk. The first time, the browser asks for microphone permission: click Allow.
3. The button turns red and counts down from 60 seconds. Speak.
4. Click the button again when you've finished (or wait for the countdown to reach zero).
5. You'll see "Sent! Playing on stream...". Your message plays on the channel a few seconds later.

• It isn't a live microphone: the message is heard after you stop recording. For a truly live show see Going live with OBS or vMix or Going live from the browser with a camera.
• Keep messages short (up to about half a minute) and speak close to the microphone.
• Use headphones so the microphone doesn't pick up sound from your speakers.

Stream Targets from the Studio

If your package has Stream Targets, you see your platforms here with their status ("● Live", "● Error", "○ Stopped"). Click ▶ to start sending to a platform ("Target started") and ■ to stop it ("Target stopped"). If you have no targets, you'll see "No targets" and the Add Target button.
