Multicast Radio: Listing in the Shoutcast Directory (AuthHash)

For your station to appear in the Shoutcast Directory, it must have a Shoutcast 2 server and its AuthHash must be entered. You enter the AuthHash once and it's kept across restarts.

Step 1: Get the AuthHash

Get the AuthHash from shoutcast.com: see Shoutcast Directory: How to list my station.

Step 2: Settings in Multicast Radio

  1. In the panel, go to Streaming → Stream Settings.
  2. If Server Type isn't Shoutcast: click Stop and choose Shoutcast 2.
  3. Under Stream Info, fill in Stream Name, Stream Genre(s) and Stream Website.
  4. Under Directory Listing, choose Always Public.
  5. Click Save Settings. When the panel asks, restart the stream (or click Start if it was stopped).

Step 3: Enter the AuthHash

  1. Your station must be playing (AutoDJ or a live broadcast).
  2. In Stream Settings, under Server Connection, find the server, port and Admin Password.
  3. Open http://server:port/admin.cgi in your browser. Log in with username admin and the Admin Password.
  4. On the /stream stream (Stream #1), click Create Authhash (or Manage Authhash), paste the AuthHash and save.
  5. After a few minutes, search for your station on directory.shoutcast.com.

Good to know

  • Your station appears in the directory while it's playing. If you choose Always Private or switch back to Icecast, it's removed from the directory.
  • If you get stuck, open a support ticket.
