The DJ Mixer is a mixing-desk style screen for running your AutoDJ programme. You can hear a track in your headphones before putting it on air, fire jingles from pads, drop in with the microphone and switch playlists. The audio is played by the server. The DJ Mixer doesn't send your computer's audio; to broadcast live from your computer see the Web DJ.

Before you start

  • Open it from Main → DJ Mixer. It opens in a full window.
  • You need a computer with a screen at least 1200 pixels wide.
  • The station must be playing. Otherwise actions return "Stream not running".
  • The screen's labels are in English. Some buttons and decorative elements (e.g. EQ, Sampler) are visual only and don't affect the broadcast; below we describe the ones that work.

The screen

  • Top bar: back to the panel (← Panel), clock, full screen and MASTER: the volume you hear.
  • ON AIR: what's playing now, how many are listening, and SKIP to jump to the next track immediately.
  • Deck A (PREVIEW): for previewing in your headphones. Listeners don't hear it.
  • Deck B (ON AIR): shows and plays back for you what's on air.
  • Library (bottom): your tracks by folder, with search.
  • PADS: 8 buttons per page with your jingles.
  • PLAYLIST: your playlists.

Putting a track on air

  1. Find the track in the library and load it onto Deck A.
  2. Listen in your headphones to find the point you want.
  3. Click ◉ MIXER. The track goes on air immediately and the previous one is cut. If a restream is running, it's interrupted.

Next Track on Deck B puts the next library track on air. Loop Track on Deck B replays the current track when it ends, but only while the DJ Mixer page stays open.

Jingles from the pads

The pads fill automatically with the tracks you've marked as jingles (Managing your tracks). JINGLES switches between pad pages. Click a pad: the jingle plays over the music, which is lowered for a moment.

Microphone (TALK)

  1. Click TALK and allow the microphone in your browser.
  2. Speak (up to 60 seconds) and click TALK again.
  3. The message plays over the music, which is lowered while it plays. There's then a 10-second wait before the next one.

As on the Dashboard, the message is recorded first and plays once you stop; it isn't a live microphone.

Clips

IN captures up to 30 seconds of audio from the deck. OUT plays it on air once and then clears it. Loop IN plays it and keeps it for again. RESET clears it.

Switching playlist

Click a playlist in the PLAYLIST list to make it active. If a Playlist-type schedule is running, the system will switch back to the schedule's playlist within about a minute (Schedule).

Recording

  • REC on Deck B: records what's on air on the server and saves it under Tracks, in the records folder. You'll see "Εγγραφή ξεκίνησε" (recording started) and then "Εγγραφή αποθηκεύτηκε" (recording saved).
  • REC on Deck A: records the preview and also saves it in the records folder.
