You log in to cPanel with Login to Panel (see cPanel: Logging in). Depending on the server, you'll find one of the two tools below under Software.

Select PHP Version

  1. Go to Software → Select PHP Version.
  2. Choose a PHP version. On the same page you turn extensions on or off.
  3. Click Switch to PHP options for settings such as upload_max_filesize, post_max_size, memory_limit and max_execution_time. Changes are saved immediately.

MultiPHP Manager and MultiPHP INI Editor

  • MultiPHP Manager: tick the domain, choose a version under PHP Version and click Apply.
  • MultiPHP INI Editor: in Basic Mode choose the domain, change the values (e.g. upload_max_filesize) and click Apply.

Tips

  • For bigger files, raise both upload_max_filesize and post_max_size (the second slightly higher).
  • Before changing the PHP version, check that your WordPress, plugins and theme support it.
  • For WordPress, see also WordPress: upload_max_filesize error.
