On the Overlay & Watermark page you add "TV-style" graphics on top of your channel, without touching your videos:

• Scrolling text (ticker), like news channels, for announcements, contact numbers or the day's schedule.
• Static text in a corner, e.g. your website or the title of the video that's playing.
• A popup message that appears for a few seconds in the middle of the screen.
• Your channel's logo (watermark) in a corner.
• The date and time.

The graphics are "burned" into the stream picture. This means they show everywhere: on your public page, in the player on your website, in VLC, and on your Stream Targets (YouTube, Facebook, etc.). They appear on top of whatever is playing: the playlist, a live broadcast from OBS or a camera, and a restream.

How this differs from the file watermark: there's also a separate watermark that's added permanently into the video files themselves when you upload them (see Watermark and logo blur on video files). The watermark on this page is added only to the stream, and you can change or remove it whenever you like without touching your videos. Don't use both together, or you'll see the logo twice.

Availability

This feature is available on packages that include it. If Overlay & Watermark in the menu has a yellow PRO badge, the page only shows a description of the feature with the message Contact administrator for upgrade. Ask us to upgrade your package (see Upgrading your package).

Where to find it

In the menu, under Streaming, click Overlay & Watermark. You can also open the same page from the Mixer, with the Add Text button in the bottom bar.

What changes immediately and what needs a restart

This is the most important rule on this page. Read it before you start:

When you change text that's already showing on the stream, a LIVE badge briefly flashes next to the card title: the change has gone on air.

For some changes, an orange Restart button appears at the top of the page together with the message Stream restart required. For the other changes in the right-hand column the button may not appear. In that case, restart from the Live page (Output Preview card → Restart) or from the Dashboard.

Practical tip: make all your "static" settings (sizes, colours, positions, logo, time) together, at a quiet time, and then do one restart. A restart interrupts the stream for a few seconds and can't be done if the channel is stopped. In that case the settings apply at the next Start. After the restart, check that your Stream Targets are still streaming.

1. Main switch

At the top of the page is the Enable switch. If it's off, all settings are greyed out and no graphics show. Turn it on, make the settings you want below, then restart. If you turn it off, all the individual switches turn off too.

2. Ticker (Scrolling Text)

1. Turn on the switch on the Ticker (Scrolling Text) card.
2. Type your message in Ticker Text, up to 500 characters. To separate messages, use e.g. " • ".
3. Set:
   • Speed: from 20 (slow) to 300 (very fast). Default 80.
   • Font Size: 12 to 72. Default 28.
   • Color: default white.
   • Position: Bottom (default) or Top.
4. Click Save & Apply and restart if it's the first time you've turned the ticker on, or if you changed the speed, size, colour or position.

From then on, whenever you change only the text, the change goes on air about half a second after you stop typing, without a restart. To hide the ticker, turn its switch off.

3. Static Text

1. Turn on the switch on the Static Text card.
2. Type the text (up to 500 characters), e.g. your website address or the show's name.
3. Set the Font Size (12-72, default 24), Color and Position: Top Left (default), Top Center, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Center, Bottom Right.
4. Click Save & Apply and restart.

Auto Now Playing

If you turn on the Auto Now Playing switch, the static text automatically shows the name of the video that's playing (the hint is shown in Greek: "♪ Ενημερώνεται αυτόματα με τον τίτλο του βίντεο", i.e. updated automatically with the video title). The file name is used, without the .mp4 extension. So give your files clear names before you upload them, e.g. Good Morning - Episode 12.mp4 rather than VID_20240512_0931.mp4. After turning Auto Now Playing on for the first time, restart.

4. Popup Message

A popup is a message that appears for a few seconds, roughly in the middle of the screen, and then disappears. It's ideal for breaking announcements ("Live in 5 minutes!"), greetings or a contact number. It's available while the main switch is on and the channel has been started after you turned it on.

1. On the Popup Message card, set the Font Size (12-96, default 36) and Color once. These need a restart to take effect.
2. Set the Duration (sec): from 2 to 60, default 5.
3. Type the message (up to 500 characters) and click Send Popup. The button turns green with "Sent!" and the message appears on the stream.
4. To remove it sooner, click the ✕ next to the button.

Remember that viewers see the stream a few seconds late (see Stream Latency). They'll see the popup shortly after you send it.

5. Stream Watermark (logo)

1. On the Stream Watermark card, click Upload and choose your logo image.
   • Formats: PNG (ideally PNG with transparency, so there's no white or black "box" around the logo), as well as JPG, GIF and WEBP. The latter are converted to PNG automatically.
   • Maximum file size: 2 MB.
2. You'll see "Το watermark ανέβηκε" (the watermark was uploaded) and the image in the preview box. Before you upload, the box says No image and the card's switch can't be turned on.
3. Turn on the card's switch.
4. Set:
   • Position: Top Left (default), Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right or Center.
   • Size: from 5% to 50% of the picture width. The logo keeps its proportions. For a discreet corner logo, 10-15% is usually enough.
   • Distance from edge: 0 to 100 pixels. Default 20.
5. Click Save & Apply and restart ("Changes require stream restart.").

To change the logo, upload a new image. To remove it, click Delete and confirm Delete stream watermark?. You'll see "Το watermark διαγράφηκε" (the watermark was deleted). In both cases, restart.

6. Date & Time

Inside the watermark card is the Date & Time section. It shows the date and time live on the picture, using your account's time zone. Next to the description you can see which time zone applies, together with a sample.

1. Turn on the Date & Time switch.
2. Under Display, choose Date & Time (e.g. 15/10/2026 20:45:10), Date only or Time only.
3. Choose the Position (a corner or the centre, top or bottom), font size (12-72), colour and distance from the edge (0-100).
4. Click Save & Apply and restart.

If the time is wrong, change the Timezone in Account settings and restart the channel.

Make sure the graphics don't overlap. For example, if the logo is Top Left, put the static text Top Right and the time Bottom Right. If the ticker is at the Bottom, don't put anything else at Bottom Center.

Saving

Switches are saved as soon as you change them. For the other settings (sizes, colours, positions) click the Save & Apply button. You'll see "Αποθηκεύτηκε!" (saved) or, if needed, Stream restart required.

Messages / Common problems
