Plesk: Backing up your hosting and DNS records

You log in to Plesk with Login to Panel (see Plesk: Logging in).

Backup

  1. In Websites & Domains, click Backup Manager and then Back Up.
  2. Choose what it includes (files, databases, email), the type (full or incremental) and whether you want an email notification.
  3. Start the backup. When it's done, you can download it from the Backup Manager list.

To restore, or if you don't see Backup Manager, open a support ticket.

DNS records

This applies when your domain's DNS is managed by Plesk (the domain points to your hosting's nameservers).

  1. On your domain, open the DNS settings (Hosting & DNS → DNS).
  2. Click Add Record, choose the type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV etc.) and fill in the fields.
  3. Click OK and then Update to apply the changes.

Note: Reset to Default deletes all your own records.

If your DNS is at Magic Streams, see also DNS Management.
