SonicPanel
SonicPanel: Live broadcasting as a DJ, broadcasting software settings
8358 viewsA DJ broadcasts live from their computer with any broadcasting software: e.g. BUTT, RadioBOSS, VirtualDJ, SAM Broadcaster, AltaCast or Winamp DSP.
Before you start
- You need a DJ account with permission to broadcast.
- The station's AutoDJ must be online. The DJ connects through AutoDJ.
What to enter in the broadcasting software
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Server type | Shoutcast v1 (or just Shoutcast), always, even if your station is Icecast or Shoutcast v2. |
| Server / Address | The SonicPanel server's address: the one you see in the browser's address bar when you're in SonicPanel, without https:// and anything after the slash. |
| Port | The DJ port SonicPanel gave when the DJ account was created. It isn't fixed; each account has its own. |
| Password | Only the DJ password, without a username. |
Example: if the DJ has password 1234 and DJ port 6699, they choose Shoutcast v1, password 1234 and port 6699.
The DJ can see their DJ port and password in the DJ panel. Set the rest (bitrate, quality, encoder) to suit your station, then start broadcasting.
From an Android phone
If you broadcast with the BroadcastMyself app, the port is different. See SonicPanel: Broadcasting with BroadcastMyself (Android).
