Changing billing cycle, upgrading and downgrading your package

Your needs change, and your package can change with them. You can change billing cycle (e.g. from monthly to annual), upgrade to a bigger package or downgrade to a smaller one, without losing your data. It's all done from the service page: Services → My Services → Manage.

Changing billing cycle

A longer cycle usually has a better price and fewer payments.

  1. In the right-hand column, click Change cycle.
  2. The window shows the Current billing cycle and the available cycles with their prices (excl. VAT).
  3. Choose a cycle and click Confirm. You'll see "Billing cycle updated successfully".

The change charges nothing at that moment. The current period carries on as normal, and the new cycle at the new price applies from the next renewal proforma invoice. The change can't be made while the service has an unpaid proforma invoice ("Cannot change billing cycle while unpaid proforma invoices exist"): pay it first.

If you can't see the button, the cycle change is made from the Upgrade page, or isn't available for this product. Send a ticket to billing.

Upgrading or downgrading a package

  1. In the right-hand column, click Upgrade.
  2. At the top you see the Current Product: cycle, amount, next due date and Days remaining.
  3. Under Upgrade To there's a card for each available package, with an Upgrade or Downgrade badge. Choose a Billing Cycle and check the amount:
    • Prorated charge: +€X: you only pay the difference for the remaining days.
    • Credit applied: €X: on a downgrade, the difference is credited to your balance.
    • No charge.
  4. Click Confirm Upgrade and confirm in the window.

What happens next

  • Upgrade with a charge: a proforma invoice is created and you're taken to it. The upgrade is applied right after payment, without losing data. If you have credit, it's used automatically.
  • Downgrade: applied immediately, and the difference is credited to your balance. It isn't refunded as money.
  • No charge: applied immediately.

How the prorated charge is calculated

Same cycle: you pay the price difference only for the remaining days. Example: a €20/month package, upgrading to €30/month with 15 days left → roughly (30-20) × 15/30 = €5. The renewal date doesn't change.

Different cycle: you pay the full new cycle, minus the value of the days you had left. The new period starts from the day of payment.

Downgrading to less space: before downgrading, make sure your data fits in the smaller package (e.g. music, files, mailboxes). Otherwise it may not work properly or you may not be able to upload anything.

Changing quantity

Some products (e.g. number of mailboxes) have a Change quantity card:

  1. Set the quantity with the slider or type the number.
  2. The preview shows the Charge now for the remaining days and the New renewal price.
  3. Click Apply change.

An increase is applied after the prorated proforma invoice is paid. A decrease is applied immediately, with no refund for the current period.

Extra features

To add a single feature (e.g. Backup or Custom Domain for radio), you don't need to upgrade the package: see Your service page → Enabling an extra feature.
