How to pay a proforma invoice: all payment methods
262 viewsEvery charge (new order, renewal, upgrade) is first issued as a proforma invoice. Once it's paid, the service is activated or renewed, and the legal document (invoice or receipt) is issued afterwards. This article shows you how to pay and how quickly each payment method is credited.
Find the proforma invoice
- From the "New proforma invoice" email we sent you: click the link.
- Or in the Client Area: Billing → Proforma Invoices. The Unpaid filter shows those waiting for payment, and the number next to the menu shows how many there are. Click Pay.
The proforma invoice page
- Left: your details (Invoiced To), Proforma Date, Due Date (when it must be paid by), the line items, Tax (VAT) and the Total.
- Right: the Pay Now card, with the payment method and the amount.
- Print prints it or saves it as a PDF from your browser.
Paying step by step
- If you have available credit, "Available credit" and the Use my credit button appear. If the credit covers the amount, the proforma invoice is paid immediately. Otherwise it's reduced and you pay the difference. See Credits.
- Under Payment Method, choose how you'll pay. The page reloads with the instructions for that method.
- Follow the instructions (see the table).
Payment methods
| Method | How it works | When it's credited |
|---|---|---|
| Card (Viva Payments) | Click Pay Now. You're taken to Viva's secure page, pay by debit or credit card and are returned automatically. For larger amounts instalments may be offered. | Immediately |
| IRIS | Click Pay Now, choose your bank and complete the payment in its e-banking or app. No fee. | Immediately |
| PayPal | Click Pay Now, log in to PayPal (or pay by card as a guest) and confirm. | Immediately |
| Revolut Pay | Click Pay Now and complete the payment on Revolut's page. | Within seconds. If it still says "Unpaid" right after you return, refresh the page. |
| Paysafecard | Click Pay Now and enter your paysafecard's 16-digit PIN. | Immediately |
| RF code (DIAS) | Pay from any Greek bank with the RF code shown. See Paying with an RF code. | The same day (on working days) |
| Bank transfer | Click View bank accounts and pay into one of them. See Paying by bank transfer. | The same day, if you pay into an account at your own bank. Transfer from another bank: 1-2 working days, with a transfer cost of +€4* |
After a successful online payment you return to the proforma invoice with "Payment received successfully! Thank you.", the status changes to Paid and you receive a confirmation email.
Fees: RF code (DIAS), IRIS and bank deposit at the same bank have no fee at all. For a transfer from another bank, allow for a transfer cost of +€4* (* set by the banks and may change). Card (Viva), PayPal, Paysafecard and Revolut may add a "Service Fees" line to the proforma invoice. When you change payment method, the amount is recalculated and you see the final amount before paying.
What happens after payment
- New order: the service is activated and you receive an email with its details.
- Renewal: the service's "Next Due" date moves forward by one cycle.
- Service suspended for late payment: it comes back automatically as soon as the proforma invoice is paid.
- Domain: the registration, transfer or renewal is submitted to the registry.
- Legal document: the invoice or receipt is issued after payment (see here).
Several unpaid? Pay them together
If you have two or more unpaid proforma invoices, the list shows the Pay all unpaid proforma invoices button.
- Click the button. A single combined proforma invoice is created with all the unpaid ones.
- Pay it any way you like. One payment settles them all and activates their services.
Partial payment and overpayment
- If you pay less than the total, the proforma invoice stays Unpaid with the remaining balance.
- If you pay more, the difference goes into your credit balance and is used on future proforma invoices.

| The proforma invoice says "Draft" or "Payment Pending" | It can't be paid online yet. Contact billing. |
