Domains are not bought once and forever — they are renewed for a set period.

How to renew

You receive email reminders before expiry. In the panel, under My Domains, you can see the expiry date and request a renewal. An invoice is issued and the renewal completes once it is paid.

If the expiry date passes

The domain stops working: your website and email go down. Depending on the extension there is a grace period during which renewal is still normal, followed by a redemption period with an extra fee charged by the registry. After that, the domain is released and anyone can register it.

Our advice

Do not leave renewal to the last minute. Redemption costs several times a normal renewal and takes longer.
