Centova Cast: Listing your station in the Shoutcast Directory (AuthHash) and the "Directory warning" message
1931 viewsThe Shoutcast Directory (yp.shoutcast.com) is the official listing of internet radio stations. If your station is public, it can appear in the directory, so listeners can find it on the Shoutcast website or in apps that use the directory.
Why do I see "Directory warning"?
When your station can't be listed in the directory, Centova Cast shows a warning like this:
Directory warning The streaming server reports that your station could not be listed in the stream directory due to the following problem: Code 1162302021 : Please consult the manual for your streaming server for additional information about this error.
This usually happens because:
- the station is set to private (public=0);
- the AuthHash, the key that identifies your station in Shoutcast, hasn't been entered yet;
- there is a temporary connection problem with yp.shoutcast.com.
The warning doesn't affect your listeners. Your station plays normally; it just isn't shown in the directory.
How to list my station
First get the AuthHash from shoutcast.com: see Shoutcast Directory: How to list my station. Then:
Step 1: Public station

- Your station must be playing (AutoDJ or a live broadcast).
- In Centova Cast's left menu, click Admin. The Shoutcast (DNAS) page opens.
- Click Server Login at the top right. Username:
admin. Password: the Admin Password from Centova Cast's settings. - Choose the stream (usually Stream #1) and click Create Authhash (or Update Authhash, if one already exists).
- Paste the AuthHash you copied and save.
Step 3: Stop, start and check
- In Centova Cast, click Stop Server and then Start Server.
- After a few minutes, search for your station on directory.shoutcast.com.
I don't want my station in the directory
On the Server Overrides tab, set Public Server to Never. The warning may keep appearing, but you can ignore it. Your station works normally for your listeners.
