Nextcloud: What it is and first steps, login, password and storage
3116 viewsNextcloud is cloud file storage, like Google Drive or Dropbox, on our own server. You upload files from your browser, sync them with your computer and phone, and share them with links.
Logging in
- Log in to the Client Area and go to Services → My Services → Manage on your Nextcloud service.
- Under Login credentials you can see the username and password (click the eye icon to show the password).
- Click Login to Panel. The Nextcloud login page opens in a new tab.
- Enter the username and password and click Log in.
Your Nextcloud address is also shown at the top of the service page, next to the cloud icon. This is the address you enter in the computer and phone apps.
Your password
You can change the password inside Nextcloud: click your profile icon at the top right → Settings → Security → Password.
If you change it there, Login credentials in the Client Area will still show the old password. Keep the new password somewhere safe. If you forget it, open a support ticket.
Storage
On the service page you can see the used and free space, your package's disk limit and the usage history for the last 30 days. Files in the trash and old file versions also take up space. For more space, see Changing billing cycle, upgrading and downgrading your package.
