MediaCP: Uploading videos and your channel's schedule (TV Station)

6393 views

In MediaCP you upload your videos and your channel (TV Station) plays them 24 hours a day, from a playlist or on a schedule. When you go live, the live stream takes over from the playlist immediately.

You log in to MediaCP with Login to Panel on the service page (see MediaCP: First steps) and click Overview next to your service.

Video: uploading to MediaCP

1. Prepare your videos

  • H.264 video with AAC audio. Other formats won't play.
  • All videos in the same format (resolution, bitrate, audio), and the same as your live stream. If the format changes from one video to the next, the stream may cut out.

2. Uploading from the File Manager

  1. In the left menu, open the File Manager.
  2. Drag your videos from your computer onto the page, or select them to upload. You can drag several files at once.

There you can also download, preview, move and delete files. Right-click a file for more options. For many or large files, see MediaCP: Uploading videos via FTP.

3. Playlists and schedule

  • Default playlist: plays when nothing is scheduled and you're not live. That way your channel is never left without a picture.
  • Schedule: you set which playlist plays at what time. There may be a short delay when switching, because the next video is loaded in advance.
  • Live: when you go live, the stream takes over from the playlist immediately. When you disconnect, the playlist carries on. See MediaCP: Live streaming with OBS.

Videos use your package's space (Disk (MB) card on the service page). If you need more, see Changing billing cycle, upgrading and downgrading your package.
