Aircheck records continuously, 24 hours a day, everything that goes out on your station: AutoDJ music, live shows, restreams, adverts. Each hour is saved as a separate file that you can listen to or download. It's useful for:

  • proving to an advertiser that their spot was broadcast,
  • keeping an archive of shows or publishing shows as podcasts,
  • checking what went out at a specific time, e.g. after a listener complaint,
  • meeting any logging obligations your station may have.

Before you start

  • Aircheck is an add-on service. If you have it, it appears in the menu under Streaming → Aircheck. If you can't see it, enable it from your service page in the Client Area (Configuration & Details card → Aircheck → Enable). Recording starts within a minute of enabling it.
  • It's available on packages with AutoDJ and on live-only packages.
  • Hours follow your account's Timezone (Settings).

What is recorded

FeatureValue
SourceThe station's main stream, exactly as listeners hear it
File lengthOne hour, from :00 to :59 of each hour
FormatMP3, 64 kbps. Good enough for checking and archiving; about 27 MB per hour
RetentionRecordings are kept for a set period (usually 90 days) and then deleted automatically. For a different period, send us a ticket.
SpaceRecordings don't count towards your package's storage

Recording only happens while the station is playing. If the station is stopped, or nobody is broadcasting on a live-only package, those hours stay empty.

Listening to an hour

  1. Go to Streaming → Aircheck.
  2. Choose a day with the < / > arrows or from the calendar. Future days can't be selected.
  3. You see 24 tiles, one for each hour:
    • Green with a size in MB: a recording exists.
    • Orange with REC: the current hour. If part of it has already been recorded, you can listen up to that moment.
    • Faded with "—": no recording.
  4. Click a green hour. A player appears at the top with the date and time, and playback starts.

For recordings from roughly the last two days you can skip freely within the hour. For older recordings, playback starts from the beginning and skipping may not work. To find a specific point in an old hour, download the file and open it on your computer.

Downloading

  1. Click the hour you want so the player appears.
  2. Click Download. An MP3 is downloaded with a name like username_2026-10-14_14.mp3, i.e. 14:00-14:59 on 14 October.

Downloads are one hour at a time. For a three-hour show, download the three hours and join them in a program such as Audacity.

Good to know

  • You can't delete recordings yourself. They're only deleted automatically when the retention period has passed. If you need something for longer, download it.
  • Service suspension: while the service is suspended, recording stops and you have no access to the recordings. Automatic deletion carries on, though. When the service is reactivated, recording restarts automatically.
  • Cancelling Aircheck: recording stops and the page is no longer shown. Download anything you want to keep first.
  • Changing the time zone: the tiles may show shifted hours for a while. Make such changes rarely.
  • Difference from DJ recordings: recordings from the Dashboard and DJ accounts (DJ accounts) only record live shows, at better quality (192 kbps), inside your Tracks, and they use space. Aircheck records everything, without using space. Both can run together.

Common problems

ProblemExplanation / solution
"No recordings for this date"The day is before the service was enabled or older than the retention period, or the station was off air.
Some hours are missing, or an hour is smaller than 27 MBThe station was stopped or off air during that hour, or there was a restart.
The hour shows REC but nothing can be heardREC always appears on the current hour. Check on the Dashboard that the station is playing.
The player won't play an old hour / "Recording not found"The recording has just been deleted under the retention rule, or there was a temporary problem. Refresh the page and try again.
Aircheck disappeared from the menu after a package changeContact us to have it re-enabled. Your recordings haven't been lost.
