Backup keeps a copy of your station's music, so you can restore it if you delete something by mistake, or download it to your computer.

Before you start

  • The feature must be in your package. If Backup in the Account menu has a PRO badge, enable it from your service page in the Client Area (Configuration & Details card).
  • Check carefully what the backup includes, in the table below.

What's included and what isn't

IncludedNot included
  • All audio files (tracks, jingles, spots, recordings)
  • Playlist files
  • Covers
  • The Schedule and Radio Spots
  • DJ accounts
  • Stream Settings, Audio Processing and the Public Page
  • Statistics

So the backup protects your music, which is the hardest thing to rebuild. Keep notes or screenshots of your schedule and settings.

Automatic and manual backups

  • Auto Backup: runs by itself once a week, early on Sunday morning. The most recent one is kept: when a new one completes, the previous one is deleted.
  • Manual Backup: you create it whenever you want, e.g. before big changes. You can have one manual backup at a time; for a new one, delete the old one first.

The page shows the status of each (Completed, Uploaded, Running or Failed), the Date, the Size and how many Tracks it contains.

Creating a manual backup

  1. Go to Account → Backup.
  2. Click Create Backup in the Manual Backup card.
  3. You'll see Backup in Progress with a progress bar. For large libraries this can take several minutes.
  4. At the end you'll see Backup completed!

Downloading to your computer

Click Download on the backup's card. A .tar.gz file is downloaded, e.g. username_backup_manual_2026-10-15_103000.tar.gz. Open it with 7-Zip on Windows, or by double-clicking on Mac and Linux. Inside you'll find the folders tracks (your music with its folders), playlists, artwork and covers.

We recommend downloading a copy every few months and keeping it off the server too.

Restoring

  1. Click Restore on the backup you want.
  2. Read the message: the backup's files will replace current files with the same name.
  3. Click Restore. You'll see Restore in Progress and at the end Restore completed!

What a restore does:

  • Brings back files that were deleted and adds them again under Tracks, with title and artist from their tags.
  • Replaces files with the same name with the backup's version. If you trimmed or normalized a track after the backup, the old version comes back.
  • Doesn't delete tracks you added after the backup.
  • Doesn't rebuild playlists, schedules or settings. After a restore, check your playlists and add back the restored tracks if needed.

Deleting a backup

Click the bin icon and confirm. Deleting is permanent. You'll mainly need this to create a new manual backup.
