Centova Cast: Listing your station in the Shoutcast Directory and the "Directory warning" message
1908 viewsThe Shoutcast Directory (yp.shoutcast.com) is the official listing of internet radio stations. If your station is public, it can appear in the directory, so listeners can find it on the Shoutcast website or in apps that use the directory.
Why do I see "Directory warning"?
When your station can't be listed in the directory, Centova Cast shows a warning like this:
Directory warning The streaming server reports that your station could not be listed in the stream directory due to the following problem: Code 1162302021 : Please consult the manual for your streaming server for additional information about this error.
This usually happens because:
- the station is set to private (public=0);
- the authhash, the unique key that identifies your station in Shoutcast, hasn't been created yet;
- there is a temporary connection problem with yp.shoutcast.com.
The warning doesn't affect your listeners. Your station plays normally; it just isn't shown in the directory.
