Live streaming from your phone (Larix Broadcaster)

13082 views

You can stream live to your channel straight from your phone, with an app that sends video over RTMP. We recommend the free Larix Broadcaster, for Android and iPhone.

This older article used to recommend the Wowza GoCoder app, which is no longer supported (since January 2021).

1. Get the connection details from your panel

You need your channel's RTMP Server address and Stream Key:

2. Set up Larix Broadcaster

  1. Install Larix Broadcaster from Google Play or the App Store.
  2. Open Settings → Connections and tap + for a new connection.
  3. Give it a name and, if asked, choose Custom RTMP.
  4. In URL, enter the RTMP Server address, a slash / and then the Stream Key. Example: rtmp://server:1935/live/your-stream-key.
  5. Save, go back to the camera and tap the broadcast button.

Tips

  • Use Wi-Fi where possible. On a mobile network, lower the resolution and bitrate in the app's video settings.
  • Keep your phone charging during long broadcasts.
  • If it won't connect, check that the URL and Stream Key are exactly as shown in your panel, with no spaces.
